Whether you live in McAllen, Texas or you are just passing through, there are always things to see and do there. It certainly isn’t the biggest city around, but there is no shortage of great events to attend. Here are a few of the upcoming events to be hosted in the town that you should keep an eye out for.

Winter Fantasy

DJ Seven Lions present a holiday-themed music fest with additional guests performing. This party has been one of the hottest tickets in McAllen, Texas for the past few years, and it’s only going to get bigger and better. You don’t have long to get your tickets to this event.

Winter fantasy starts December 29th.

South Texas Comic-Con

Summer’s biggest convention in the area is going to be at the McAllen Convention Center. You’ll see tons of vendors out there with their comics, cards, statues, action figures, posters and more. Plus, there’ll be guests on hand from within the industry to sign autographs and talk about their exciting new projects. The current guest lineup is not set yet, but you definitely want to pay attention to who is coming so you get a chance to see all your favorite stars of film, comics and television. Comic conventions are increasingly becoming multi-media events, so no matter what field of entertainment your interests lie, there is something here for you.

The Comic Convention will go for three days starting July 28th.

8th Annual Pico de Gallo 100 Bike Ride

Once again, McAllen residents will be coming out in force on their bikes of all sizes and shapes to participate in this event. The ride goes on for 100 miles, but riders are encouraged to go for only as long as they like. Even teenagers, children and inexperienced riders can participate, but they should arrange pickup as needed. This free event comes with support and gear for riders up until 5pm the night of event. We suggest that if you finish early to stop by McAllen’s top FHA mortgage lender and let us know how you did.

The ride starts December 2nd, 2017.

2017 Bowling Competition

SOTX will be hosting a free bowling event for anyone who wants to participate. The event will take place at the Flaming Bowl, and the event organizers are also calling for volunteers to help assist. Even if you can’t bowl very well, you can always help out or just come to watch and support your friends and family. It’s great fun for people of all ages.

The bowling event takes place on November 6th, 2017.

A.P. Solis Middle School’s Library 5K

The participants will be running on a 5k course, but of course, you can walk, jog or run your way to the finish. All proceeds go to supporting the school library. The event organizers promise that medals will be handed out to the first three finishing places in seven different age categories. So, no matter how old or young you are, you have a chance to win medal.
